据田家炳基金会透露，香港实业家、慈善家田家炳先生于日前辞世，享年99岁。
Born in 1919 in Dabu County, Guangdong, Tin headed to Vietnam and established a porcelain clay business in 1935.
田家炳于1919年出生在广东省大埔县。他于1935年前往越南，成立了一家瓷土公司。
Escaping from Japanese occupation, he started his business in rubber industry in Indonesia in 1939 and later became a prominent industrialist.
为了躲避日本的占领，田家炳于1939年开始在印尼经营橡胶行业，随后成为一名著名的实业家。
In 1958, he moved to Hong Kong with his family for his children have education in a traditional Chinese environment, according to the foundation.

The Tin Ka Ping Foundation, founded in 1982, strives to support the education sector and other charitable endeavors in the Greater China Region.

Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor expressed her "deep sorrow" at Tin's death, and hailed his contribution to the promotion of education, culture, medical and social welfare in Hong Kong and the mainland.
香港行政长官林郑月娥对田家炳的辞世表达了哀思。她赞赏了田家炳对香港和大陆的教育、文化、医疗和社会保障所做的贡献。
"On behalf of the Hong Kong special administrative region, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family," Lam said.
